In My Little Garden

"I never had any other desire so strong, and so like to covetousness, as that one which I have had always, that I might be master at last of a small house and a large Garden. ~Abraham Cowley, The Garden, 1666"

Here's what's growing at my house.  The edibles...

We have tomatoes.
All dewy and happy, but still very small.  No flowers, yet.

"As a gardener, I'm among those who believe that much of the evidence of God's existence has been planted. ~Robert Brault"

We have carrots.
I weeded and thinned them yesterday.
I think I'll need to thin a little more, but I'm going to let them get a bit more mature.  Maybe in a week or two.

"When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant. ~Author Unknown"

We have spinach.

"In every gardener there is a child who believes in The Seed Fairy. ~Robert Brault"

The big picture (bed 1 of 3).
Carrots to the left of the paint stick, spinach to the right.

Growing above the wall is purple flowering raspberry.  It's a wild raspberry that tastes good, but is not as juicy as a traditional raspberry.

"Why try to explain miracles to your kids when you can just have them plant a garden. ~Robert Brault"

Here's a close-up of the purple flowering raspberry.

"One of the most delightful things about a garden is the anticipation it provides. ~W.E. Johns"

We have an abundance of traditional raspberries, as well, scattered all over the property.

"If you've never experienced the joy of accomplishing more than you can imagine, plant a garden. ~Robert Brault"

Also among the cast of characters, though not pictured here are; cucumber, butternut squach, and acorn squash.
The pie pumpkin seeds did not sprout. Perhaps they were mole food.

Gardening makes me happy.
