Something for Sunday

Well, time to see about blogging again.  Though I've been without words for much of the last year... or longer, I've missed it.  I'm not sure of the cause for my lack of inspiration... changes, stresses, distractions, the fact that I was posting to a blog addressed as paminflorida.

Truthfully, that bugged me more than it probably should have.  Hence, the new blog address... and what could be more inspiring than jotting down one's blessings.  Plus, thankful expressions can be posted from anywhere!  For nostalgia sake, though, I've attached a link at the bottom so the Rest Awhile/paminflorida archives can be accessed.

There have been a lot of changes to blogspot since I was last here, so if you check in with any regularity you'll find that this will be a work in progress while I learn the new features.  And, while I find my blogging groove again, this will likely be a photo journal more than anything else.

So, without further ado, my first subject shall be... the utter delight of my heart... Kingston!  (What a surprise.)

This past Friday Kristiina, Kingston and I went to MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) in the morning.

Side note:  I imagined I would be a GROP... Gramma of a Preschooler ("preschoolers" are really any age between infant and kindergarten).  Instead, I was intrigued to discover I'm a WOW... Woman of Wisdom. {{grin}}

Anyway, I volunteer in childcare while Kristiina does her thing with the MOPS and invariably (and joyfully) we always have a couple of errands to run afterward (two Fridays a month).

So, back to this past Friday... after MOPS and errands, Joe and I watched Kingston for the afternoon till Nic got out of work.  I thought it would be a great idea for Kingston and I to walk over to the pond across the street from us for a little outdoor fun.

Following is a picture story of our adventure...

"Oooo, what's this?  A pine cone?"

"Look, Gramma, I found a pine cone."

This is a nice pine cone. I like it.

Mmmm, does it smell good?

I wonder what else I'll find here.

There's so much to explore.

We were sitting down singing songs, and he decided  he wanted to...  "Yook... yook... yook... "
"Oh, you want to look at the pictures, Kingston? Okay, I'll show you."

Daddy and Grampa met us at the pond and, heading back home, daddy suggested we race up the hill.

Fun day.  He makes my heart sing. I could never have imagined the intensity of a grandmother's love.  It's less possessive than the mother's love I have known for his mother, but has every bit as much gripping power.
