Giveaway ended August 28, 2013, but enjoy the following review of a great Pantry Paratus product...

I was recently sent a set of 4 Silicone Ice-Pop molds from my friends at Pantry Paratus so that I could give them a try and provide you with a review.

How exciting!  My first review...  here goes!

About the Silicone Ice Pop Molds

Measuring 8.5 inches in length, they are larger than they appeared in pictures.

They are available in 4 colors, so you can personalize your pops or sort the flavors by color.

They have a classic "push-up" design, reminiscent of those freezer pops of my youth without all of the yucky ingredients (like sugar and food dye).

They're flexible, dishwasher safe, and reusable ... so you can have many years of ice pop fun!

A ridged lid secures the liquid before freezing and minimizes mess in freezer, coolers, or when you are on the go.

They are FDA Approved.

My Experience

I used my favorite smoothie recipe to fill the silicone ice pop molds:

     1 banana
6 small (or 4 medium) frozen strawberries
     1/3 cup frozen blueberries
1/2 - 2/3 cup cultured (not quite clabbered) raw milk (or plain yogurt)
1 tsp sucanat (or raw honey)
     1 tsp chia seeds

     Blend all ingredients till smooth.

I used a mason jar to hold up my tapered molds while I filled them with my berry smoothie.  The tapering is fantastic for ease of squeezing the frozen yumminess out of the molds - but not so convenient if you want to stand them up.  Hehe... not deemed a flaw, just an observation!

And I kept them in that mason jar when I put them in in the freezer, not because I thought they'd leak if I laid them down - I'm sure they wouldn't because of that great ridged lid - but because my freezer space is so limited, it's the only way I could squeeze them in there without compromising their shape!

They are super easy to use.  I just had to grip it for a minute or two in the warmth of my hand to release the frozen smoothie from the sides (or a quick pass under warm water would work, too), and then they slid up easily and efficiently... so efficiently, in fact, they're even mess-free for my preschool and toddler-age grandkids!

That is one delighted preschool boy!

Could he be any happier?!

Ah, our little toddler girl did have trouble keeping that pop pushed up; probably due to the size of those darling hands.

No problem, though.  This works, too!

Conclusion

I think these are a great product.  They're versatile (fill them with any of your freezable favorites... or on-the-go yogurt - or applesauce... and skip the freezing), simple to fill, are a perfect snack size, and they're fun!  Hubby noticed an odor the first time he used it, but that was just because they were new and still had that "new silicone smell."  A subsequent washing and filling/freezing reduced the smell, and I'm sure a third will eliminate it altogether.  In conclusion, I highly recommend these Silicone Ice Pop Molds.

I have so many frozen treat recipes that I used to make, and new ones I want to try. I have been tempted to buy a set of the cheap plastic sippy pop molds at the store, but these look so much better! Creamy yogurt pops are my favorite!
