My Favorite Finds
The week's compilation...
A bit fewer this week...
DL Mayfield: "I want to see the kingdom of God made manifest, to see it where Jesus promised it would be: in the margins of society, on the fringes of religion. I want real life, I want to drink it full, and I don’t want the watered-down happy and dull life that has been promised to me, both by the church and my culture at large."
Ann Voskamp: "But sometimes when you look back, just at the top of the hill, before it all slips behind, a memory, that’s when you see how the trees blazed and how you were all living right under the whole, spreading sky, right there under heaven, and you never wholly knew it until right then, till you try to wave your hand goodbye."
Ann had 2 I really enjoyed: “'Mist is….' I feel about for words. And sometimes the words “I do not know” reveal the deepest wisdom – the essence of humility and the acceptance of the God-mystery beyond our understanding."
A Quirky Gardening Tip: "Put Epsom salts and sugar into each hole with your plant. It makes them grow larger, leafier and greener."
Found on Pinterest: Just in time for apple season! Crockpot Apple Butter - 1 dozen apples, peeled, cored, cubed; 1/2 c water; 1/4 c brown sugar; 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon; 1/2 tsp all spice. YUMMY!
Have a nice weekend. Ours will be quiet. One thing I plan to accomplish is turning that garbage pail full of dirt, hay and, hopefully, potatoes to see if any potatoes did indeed grow in there!
I'll let you know how that turns out.
