Dear God,

His name is Yash; he's a darling little boy from India.  I knew the moment I saw him that I wanted to sponsor him, and my heart is happy that in a sense, he's become ours. Ours to pray for, to write letters of love and encouragement, to send gifts of toy cars and coloring books, if it would delight him.

He's three years old and will turn four on January 6th, the same day our Kingston turns three.  He's one year to the day older than our own precious grandson.

This dear boy, who "lives in an area of higher risk of exploitation and abuse," I pray you would shelter and protect him - physically, absolutely - but also in mind and spirit.  Guard his heart from the wiles of the evil one and give him clear thinking; an openness to receive your love and grace.

Allow him to live freely and joyfully - to have playful, little-boy days.  I wonder if he is talkative and inquisitive, like Kingston... I hope he laughs often.

Would you be generous in giving us wisdom in how to pray and encourage him when we write, for it's our desire to support him in much more than just monetary contribution and we seek your guidance for that.

We humbly thank you for this opportunity to make a difference in his life.

Dear Yash...
"I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.
I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe."
~Ephesians 1:17-19a
